Silk matt gold, silk matt platinum, silk matt palladium

Silk matt gold, silk matt platinum and silk matt palladium preparations consist of organometallic compounds of gold, platinum, palladium and silver, adhesion promoters like rhodium and bismuth as well as of organic solvents and resins. Their silk matt surface they get by the addition of special matting agents. Type and quantity of the matting agent define the optical appearance of single products.

During the firing the organic components burn off. A thin precious metal film of only about 0,1 µm is formed on the substrate surface.

Silk matt preparations typically have a precious metal content between 9 and 20%. Most used products are liquid silk matt golds for brush application, silk matt gold pastes for direct screen printing and decal production and silk matt gold pastes for lining machines.
