Burnish gold preparations consist of finely dispersed precious metals, fluxes and organic solvents, resins and further auxiliary materials.

Burnish golds have a dull, matt surface out of the oven. During the burnishing, the fine gold flakes are brought into order and the decorations gets the typical rich and massive silk matt gold appearance.

Burnish preparations form a 0,3 to 1 µm thick precious metal layer. Burnish gold and burnish white gold preparations typically contain 12 to 32% gold.
