Surface Coating Whether impervious or porous, monometallic or reactive, we offer our customers a variety of coatings to optimize the surface of their products for the intended application. We sputter, for instance, porous titanium nitride and iridium oxide to improve the electrochemical properties of cardiac pace-maker electrodes. We deposit gold electrochemically, for example, to improve the X-ray visibility of stents. We have succeeded in coating gold directly onto Nitinol without any other intermediate layer. We use evaporation especially to coat beryllium with aluminium oxide or tungsten. The above materials are merely a selection from the wide range of our coatings. Platinum, tantalum, niobium and many other materials are also possible. Our comprehensive analysis facilities are available for the characterization and qualification of the films. back © W. C.
