Electropolishing We have developed special electropolishing processes for stents which can also be used for other products. Our prime goal was to treat the very corrosion resistant special metals tantalum and niobium besides the conventional stainless steels. Whereas with the usual aggressive acids it is scarcely possible to control the rate of removal, we succeeded in developing a process which proceeds gradually. In this way the removal of material can be exactly controlled, resulting in perfectly smooth and rounded surfaces. back © W. C.
