Net-Shape Sintering We have developed a special net-shape sintering process in particular for the manufacture of porous electrode tips for cardiac pace-makers. Shaped parts with exact structures of varying size distributions can be sintered from platinum-iridium powder. These serve either as porous heads for surface enlargement or as the diffusion channel and carrier matrix for medication reservoirs.
